Trendsetter Tuesday: Lily Collins

Everyone knows Lily Collins, and if you don't; well, I think it's probably about time you came out of hibernation and visited my Tumblr page, because I've been re-blogging Lily's cherub-like face a lot recently. Lately, I've been seriously loving The Mortal Instruments series (like no really, I've been loving them, I was thinking of asking my copy of City of Ashes to be my valentine...) and obviously, Lily portrays (rather excellently) the kick-ass heroine Clarissa (Clary) Fray. I've loved Lily forever, but due to my new found obsession with the books, I've also discovered a new found love for not only her- but her super hot, cutting edge style. Lily's Shadow Hunter gear is hot, but then again so is her everyday street style - I'm totally obsessed with both. So, for this Trendsetter Tuesday, here's some of my favourite outfits of Lily's/Clary's!

I love that even though Lily usually wears casual clothing when roaming the streets, she always seems to dress her outfits up and make them look more 'put together' by adding a pair of killer heels or a gorgeous coat. I'm particularly in love with the coat Lily wears in the 5th picture along, which is much like the one I recently purchased from Topshop! I'm a little disappointed I couldn't find a better snap of Clary's to-die-for outfit that she wore whilst attending Magnus Bane' party - the look won't be for everyone, but I thought the classy designer dress matched with a grungy leather jacket and thigh high boots added the perfect mix of sexy and trendy, but meanwhile giving off that don't-mess-with-me-or-I'll-kick-your-sorry-ass vibe that Shadow Hunters should have. Also, you may notice on the second to last picture I nabbed from trusty Google, Lil' is wearing wedge trainers. As you possibly do or don't know wedge trainers for me are usually a huge (and I really do mean huge) fashion no-no, but with this outfit, I think they sort of add a little bit of elegance and edge to an otherwise plain and simple jeans and jumper ensemble, so maybe (maybe!) my perspective on these new creations have changed for the better thanks to Lily.

Who's your biggest fashion inspiration right now? Are you loving Lily as much as I am right now - and more importantly, have you bought the Mortal Instruments DVD that has just been released in the UK?! Let me know in the comments! Oh, and if you have a request of a book/book series you would like to see me review for the next Book Review instalment, then please do let me know, either here in the comments or message me on Tumblr!
