Saying Good-bye to 2013!

Hello my lovelies! I personally cannot believe that 2013 is officially over and done with, though it seems inevitable! For me, 2013 has been a pretty mediocre year, and I have every hope that next year will be bigger and brighter with much more exciting things to come, and I hope yours will too! I think, if a year has been particularly bad for you, then the easiest way to move on and seek the Great Perhaps  is to allow yourself closure. To do that, I'm going to answer a few New Year questions I found on Tumblr's New Year tag. So, if you want closure from 2013 and a huge (metaphorical obviously) door opened for you in 2014, then I tag you all to answer these below questions!

1.) What did you do in 2013 that you'd never done before?
I visited New York, a huge city that I'd always dreamed of visiting!
2.) Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Honestly, I don't think I really believe in New Year's resolutions. They are too easily breakable, I think, because so many people make them. Instead, I think everyone should just make a list of the things they intend to do in 2014, or stop doing, instead of referring to them as 'resolutions'.
3.) What would you like to have in 2014 that you lacked in 2013?
Confidence. I don't have much of it but I have plenty of anxiety to make up for it! I think in 2014 I'm going to try and make a conscious effort to try change that.
4.) What do you wish you'd done more of?
I wish I'd done more of ignoring people's opinions that I don't really value - this is something I think everyone should try to do more of!
5.) What do you wish you'd done less of?
Procrastinating. I'm a massive, fat, procrastinator. I can never really make snap judgements, which is sometimes good and sometimes bad, so maybe I'll try to work on the balance.
6.)  What one thing made your life immeasurably more satisfying?
One thing that made my life fuller this year I think was creating a blog. I discovered that I love fashion and makeup and most importantly - blogging. Creating a Tumblr to kick start my blogging experience has made my life increasingly more satisfying than it previously was.
7.) How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2013?
In 2013 my style became more edgy. Before I had a blog I was very much a 'fashion sheep' if you will; I just bought clothes that other people were wearing even if they weren't fashionable. I never much branched out of my comfort zone. Now, I have much more awareness of style, I enjoy the whole concept of fashion and I think my style has evolved so much that I'd describe it as edgy, sometimes grungy and almost always formal (I like my collared shirts and smart shoes).
8.) What kept you sane?
My blog, most definitely. It's nice to interact with truly lovely people who love to help people and enjoy doing it; which was something I was not very practiced in until I created a blog. Logging into my Tumblr dash or creating a lengthy blog post gives a certain amount of escapism for me, and I think that's mostly what has kept me sane this year. (Reading also helps.)
9.) Where did most of your money go?
To Topshop. Honestly, I think it's maybe a tie between Topshop and Boots because any money I have literally flies straight out of my purse and into their tills in exchange for a few items.
10.) Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2013?
Do what you love to do, and do not worry about the repercussions. And to remember that anything is possible if you really want it.
I hope if you answered these questions (even if you did them by yourself in your head), that they helped you to move on from 2013 and into the future. So as you previously read, I don't much believe in New Year's resolutions, but, I do like to write myself a List of Goals, which I was thinking about posting soon. Comment below if you'd like to see me List of Goals for 2014, or leave me a comment with your 2014 goals; I'd be delighted to read them! I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year's Day (I know I did - I'm a sucker for some good food), as well as a wonderful start to 2014!
