Seeing as though this is my very first blog post (yay!) I figured I'd do something more general and (hopefully) relate-able to everyone, as well as something that's pretty lengthy, especially considering I've been waiting to do this post F-O-R-E-V-E-R.
First is my Favourite song , which is of course, by the beautiful Taylor Swift, and is named Back To December. Even though, despite my initial misinterpretation of the song's content, (the song is not remotely Christmas-sy), I feel it does get me craving a Starbucks Hazelnut hot chocolate with all the toppings and gets my subconsciousness thinking of picturesque wintry mornings, which is one of the things I adore about this song (that and the sweet tenor voice that is Miss Taylor Swift).
My Next three November favourites certainly all tie in so well together because this month I have not just been loving- but obsessing over the action packed Hunger Games Trilogy. I simply love everything about the franchise, I love the books and that certain sitting-on-the-edge-of-my-chair feeling they seem to give me, I love the films with their amazing graphics, special effects and interpretations of the books (well done Gary Ross) and most of all I love, love, love Jennifer Lawrence. If you follow me on Tumblr -which you certainly should if you don't already, I really am quite interesting- then you will know from the serious amount of over re-blogging I have done, that last month as well as this one, I am totally obsessed with Jen. Not only is she the face of Dior, which only makes her rank higher in my book, but she seems such a genuine person, has the most amazing sense of humour and a stare that could simply skewer you on the spot, so generally, she's my type of girl.
Almost certainly my favourite item, not just of November, but forever, would definitely have to be my treasured iPad. I keep all my songs, apps, photos on there, as well as having all my social networking sites on there too, which is such a bonus. Because I have the iPad mini I take it literally everywhere with me (seeing as though I always have a big enough bag), and it's just such a handy appliance to own, so kudos to Apple.
Over these past couple of months the weather has definitely gotten colder over here in England and I've found that, for me, a simple collared shirt of any kind had been my holy grail this month. Not only are they cute and preppy, but I find they add an air of sophistication to an outfit, as well as on the colder days, providing that little bit of extra warmth that comes with another layer. I team my blouses with anything from jeans and a cable knit sweater to a pinny dress with tights and a beanie, and because of their versatility, I've been loving them this November. Also tying in with my favourite item of clothing, is my favourite pair of shoes, which have to be my Katz2 cut out booties from Topshop. I bought these shoes way back in July for my birthday, and I simply fell in love with them. I was wearing them everywhere in the Summer, and I'm certainly doing the same this Winter. These shoes are so un-believably versatile that it makes me want to cry with enjoyment (literally). I find that they look super cute worn with a pair of skinny jeans and a blouse, but they also add that little air of sophistication to a simple dress too. The shoes are so individual that you wouldn't find anyone else wearing them, which is also one of the main attractions for me.
Finally, is my favourite November make-up product, which is my Naked Palette by Urban Decay (duhhhh). Yes, this palette is seriously bank-balance-break worthy, but I've had mine for such a long time and - contrary to common belief - it is still going strong, even though I use it pretty much every day. I find the eye shadow is so pigmented and easy to apply that I'd have to say it is definitely worth the money, without a shadow of a doubt. It also comes with an Urban Decay eye shadow brush, and my palette also came with the Urban Decay Primer Potion, which is also pretty pricey on it's own. So, if you need to kick-start your make-up collection then I would certainly recommend this product and all it's glittery goodness.
I hope my very first Monthly Favourites will inspire you to create your own, and if you do, be sure to leave your Polyvore set in my submission box on Tumblr, which you can find here. Do you guys have any November favourites similar to mine, or do you have any of your own favourites of the month that you could recommend to me? Comment below if you do!
