Michael Kors Selma Mini Cross-Body Satchel

Hello my lovelies! Recently, I've made a serious investment purchase, which definitely isn't that huge, but is definitely important. This investment has the name of Selma and comes in the form of a petite, trapeze shaped satchel bag that has beautiful gold-toned metal work. I thought to start of what will (hopefully) be an ever growing designer collection, that this was the perfect bag to give my future hoard a swift kick start. Although a small purse to pay £150 for (sweats furiously), I find this bag so handy and such a convenient and cute accessory. I admit that I'm usually a big bag lover, as well as a big purse lover, so this purchase takes me completely out of my bag-sized comfort zone - but I can't say that I've ever been happier to be a little uncomfortable. This purchase has definitely converted me to a small bag girl, and encouraged me to make use of the little leather card holders inside the bag for my cards/cash rather than trying to cram an obnoxiously sized purse in there. If you're really not up for keeping loose money in your handbag however, I did make an adorable purchase, which was a floral coin purse (that you can just about see in the above picture!) from the Cath Kidston Kids section for only £4! It's a seriously ideal size for this bag and I've found it so convenient - if you want to check it out, the link's here! I honestly can't say a bad thing about this bag - it's sleek, classy and most certainly practical for the when you don't fancy lugging around a huge tote bag. So, after a conversion of bag faiths, a ditching of the beloved (and extremely worn) big ass purse, I can't say that I come to regret the fact that my bank balance now has a hefty £150 dent in it.

Hello my lovelies! So I know I promised to be more frequent with my posting, and I'm sort of lacking. But, never fear, because I've got a schedule drawn up, I've got Couturesque posts ready to be posted and (surprisingly), with the impending doom of my return of college, I've got all my shit together.

Recently, I went out and spent a ridiculous amount of money on tonnes of make-up stuff that I've made into a huge haul post that will be coming soon! However, with the purchasing of said products, my favourite go-to beauty products have changed, so I thought I'd keep you guys up to date on what my current beauty related favourites are!

 

First is the Soleil Tan de Chanel - and oh, my, god. It's heavenly. I've been absolutely desperate for this multi-purpose bronzer since last Christmas, and I finally got my hands on it. Used with a dense fluffy brush, it can be used to bonze, contour, or darken your foundation and much more! Obviously being a high end product, it's rather pricey, but really worth the money! The YSL Babydoll mascara was very much an impulse buy. Usually my impulse buys never turn out to be that great, but I can confident say this is the best mascara I've ever used. It cost around £25 but I'd say definitely make the investment, because it just gives lashings of volume that no mascara I've tried ever has. Many of you may know I'm quite the lipstick addict/hoarder, and this Coco Rouge Shine lipstick 100% makes the top 3. It's the perfect glossy nude shade, the formula is great, and I find it looks great with Tanya Burr's Afternoon Tea lipgloss to make it more of a pinky nude than a brown toned nude. I've found myself reaching for this a lot when I have a really dramatic eye, and it completes the look perfectly. As a girl that wears lipstic or lipgloss everyday, my lips can get seriously chapped, dry and flaky. On the lookout for a perfect lip scrub, I found this delicious pot of Popcorn goodness from Lush which is the most ideal lip scrub ever - it tastes good, it smells good and does it's job excellently, leaving lips all lovely and soft! Finally, is more of a skin care favourite, but it's the Dream Cream by Lush. I received this as a Christmas present among other lush products from my best friend Serena and have only recently got into using it more frequently. It's as good and as effective as my favourite soap and glory moisturisers, and smells just as good! It's the perfect remedy for dry skin, and is a top product, I love it!

Recently, I've been really into taking good care of my skin, after having a long period of seriously neglecting it - and then suffering the consequences. Purchasing good quality skin care is definitely important, and one can never have too many face and body products to chose from! So with that mind set, I set out and have collected a whole new selection of skin care these past couple of weeks.

A lot of people - my best friend included - have told me that they don't much rate Simple products. However, from being a really young teenager, Simple has been my skin care go-to brand, and I've personally never suffered with any problems as a result of using their products. I find that they are exactly what they say on the packaging; 'kind to skin'. I've always had really sensitive skin, and for the most part, my skin has always been on the drier side, and despite these major flaws in my skin type, Simple products have definitely always been kind to my skin, and really sorted out my skin when I've taken enough care to use their products correctly and regularly.

Okay so I know that many people frown upon those of us that use make-up wipes , and admittedly, rightly so. Unfortunately, if you're like me, and your skin is super fragile, then trying to scrub your make-up off with a cleanser, toner, balm or whatever is certainly not ideal. So, as a result of having terribly sensitive skin, I've had no choice but to go down the make-up wipe road, which is a decision I can't say I've come to regret. I'm sure everyone has realised that make-up wipes aren't designed for taking off the kind of radical eye make-up that I wear on a day to day basis, and so to tackle that issue, I begin by taking off my eye makeup with a bit of this amazing Simple eye make-up remover dabbed on to a cotton pad. One swipe, and eyeliner, eyeshaddow, and even mascara is pretty much wiped fully off - I most definitely recommend this product. Although (and I don't know if it's a result of having horribly sensitive everythings) I have found that using too much of this product can give me terribly dry eyes. But, despite that one drawback, I'd say this is a quality product, that's extremely affordable compared to other products of it's kind. Then, I use the Simple Kind to Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes to tackle the rest of the make-up left on my face. Now, I'm almost completely sure you've heard of this product before with the likes of Zoella featuring this product in a few of her latest videos, and it is the Simple Kind to Skin Moisturising Facial Wash. After using the Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Daily Scrub for so long and seeing no visible change in the way my skin looked, I switched to this product and I'm glad that I did. Despite the fact that (sadly) it didn't miraculously clear my skin up, I did see a slightly more noticeable change than  previously had by using the Neutrogena product (though I'm by no means saying it was completely useless). This face wash is definitely suitable with those of us who are prone to dry skin, and surprisingly this wash doesn't make my skin feel as tight after using it compared to millions of other facial washes that I've used prior to it. This wash makes my skin feel squeaky clean and less gross than it does when you've had a face full of make-up on all day - so I'd certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap and effective face wash.

I'm not going to go into as much detail with these next few products, but that doesn't mean I love them any less. I'm not usually drawn to more fresh scents - usually the products that tend to draw me in are more sweet or fruity smelling scents, but I'm addicted to the smell of these Soap and Glory purchases. The Butter Yourself lotion is surprisingly moisturising and has a long lingering scent, which really surprised me with its quality due to it being a drugstore product. I especially love the body scrub in this set, which is probably one of the best scrubs I've ever used, which is hard for me to say after I loved Soap and Glory's previous Scrub of Your Life a whole lot. After using this, your sin feels as smooth as a dolphin's and ready to be washed with the delicious Foam Call body wash. I haven't yet tried the hand mask/cream, but I'm sure it'll be an excellent product, and I'll be sure to let you know what I think of it!

 

The Dream Duo (MAC Product Review)

 



Hello my lovelies! Today I'm going to talk about a MAC lip combo that must have been sent from the God's - because it's truly heavenly. Obviously, I'm talking bout my recently purchased MAC lipstick in Russian Red and lip pencil in the shade Brick. Red lipsticks are definitely my weakness, and when faced with the challenge of choosing a lip colour for my Prom, I knew it had to be red. The lovely lady who did my make-up at the MAC counter introduced me to this dream duo, and I can't say I've found a more beautiful lip liner and lipstick combination in my life. This liner is definitely long lasting - even when my lipstick was looking a little dastardly, my liner was strong in place, which I see as extremely ideal because it means didn't have to carry around a huge pencil in my rather small box clutch! Russian Red lipstick is now definitely on my list of favourite shades of red ever. I've been lusting after this colour since forever, but was always a little too scared of how harsh it's richness may look in comparison to my embarrassingly pale skin. However, I found that it's so flattering, and definitely doesn't wash me out, or make me look any more ghostly than I feel (phew!). I needn't add that after a rather eventful 12 hour prom/party and all that rendezvous lark, my lips (although feeling a little dry due to the matt effect of the lipstick) were as red as when I first applied the lipstick, despite looking a little worse for wear. Amazing! The combo is definitely hydrating, despite it's misleading matte effect, and as is to be expected from MAC lipsticks, and MAC products in general, very pigmented and high quality. Definitely go out and bag yourself one, if not both, of these amazing products to make the prefect red lipped dream duo.

What's In My Make-up Bag

 

Hello my lovelies! I know I haven't posted in a long while (yes, I am the worst blogger ever), but from now on I'll be posting every Thursday, so keep a look out!

 

For me, a Number 1 make-up bag essential definitely has to be a matte powder. Having a powder stored in my make-up bag allows me to control any shine throughout the day and will stop my make-up/foundation from sliding around my face. I would certainly prefer a compact powder that has a mirror attached, because that would be more convenient, but I can't seem to find one that I love (or one that will agree with my skin!!) other than the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - which I would definitely recommend by the way!

Because, as I mentioned above, I can't seem to find a compact powder that I like, I just carry around my Chanel eyeshadow palette that has holds a perfect sized mirror that allows me to check my make-up throughout the day as well as applying it on the go.






There will never be a time that you wont catch me with some sort of lip product in my make-up bag, even if it just happens to be a lip balm or lip scrub. For convenience purposes, I like to take my Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me simply because you don't have to use your finger to apply it or anything icky like that. Other lip products that I cart around with me is whatever I'm wearing on my lips that day. I do this just because I can top up any faded colour and keep my lips ooking perfectly pout-able all day long.







Some days, my eyelashes can be either be my best, or my worst friend. My favourite mascara at the minute that the above pictured one from Clinique, and I just putt this in my make-up bag so I can re-apply a coat to any limp looking lashes throughout the day.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation Review

Hello my lovelies! know what you're thinking - it's been forever since I last posted. Work and exam prep have definitely been getting the better of me the past few weeks, but I'm apologetic all the same. However, what you will (or I hope you will!) be excited about, is the fact I made a recent purchase and just had to make a post about it for you guys - studying be damned.

Dozens upon dozens of beauty guru's have raved about this foundation, and I can see how it might appeal to some people. It has pretty good coverage - I'd say medium to full - and feels feather light on the skin. I'm still using this foundation, and even though I'm seriously bummed out because of it's poor shade range (curse you ale skin) I think it'll be an even better foundation when I (hopefully) have more of a tan in the summer time. The foundation does exactly what it says on the rather expensive looking bottle, it does gives the skin quite a radiant and healthy glow, and for people with rather dry skin, I think it's a perfect pick. Aside from it's annoying pale skin discrimination policy, the only downside to this foundation is that in certain lighting, you can see the little specs of glitter that re hidden away in the particles. Luckily, they aren't that noticeable, and I'm sure they just add to the energised look that the product gives to your skin, but if that will annoy you, this foundation is definitely not for you. I'd certainly recommend this foundation and say it's one of my summer favourite products!

Benfit Hoola Bronzer Review

 

Benefit has really been my beauty brand favourite lately, and I really felt that a review of one of my all time favourite Benefit product was in order!

So, above here are a few snaps of my Benefit Hoola Bronzer.
 

This bronzer is really all sunshine and rainbows - which is ironic because it really does give your skin that sun kissed glow. Personally, I think this bronzer is the best out there. I haven't yet tried the Nars Laguna bronzer, which accordingly is a very good one - so I'll have to try that out soon and see how it compares. But I would definitely 100% recommend this bronzer over the MAC Mineralize Skin Finish bronzer, which I find to be a little too orange toned and not that good at creating a shadowy effect ; subsequently meaning it isn't any good for contouring. Luckily, the Benefit bronzer is it's complete antithesis - it creates amazing dimension and shadow, and is definitely more suited for people with pale skin (which is me, very unfortunately). For a high-end brand, I'd say this bronzer was fairly priced at £18 from my local House of Fraser, but I'm sure prices may vary. The product comes with it's own appliance brush - which at first I was rather adverse to, but I've come to terms with using the brush as a guideline for the area I want to contour, and then going in to blend and bronze with the above pictured tapered blush brush from EcoTools. Although yes, I do believe this bronzer is better suited for pale skin than the MAC bronzer, I still feel that it's a little too dark for my skin without carrying out some serious blendage (not that it is even a word..) and carrying it around to bronze the whole of my face, which can be a little annoying when the make-up look I'm trying to achieve is doesn't need a tanned face. But hey - you win some you lose some, and I can't say I regret spending the money on this bronzer. I'm, positive it will last a while - especially seeing as though I purchased it in January and I haven't even hit the pan yet! On the whole, I really do love this bronzer, despite it's few drawbacks, and would certainly recommend it to anyone with a need for a bronzer re-vival.

1. Favourite Person -

 I ♡  Tanya Burr. I've really been loving Tanya - and her videos this month. She seems like such a genuine and lovely person, and her new Lips and Nails collection look really amazing, so I'm definitely going to have to purchase one of those products. Congrats Tanya!

2. Favourite Book -

I ♡ Beautiful Creatures. As my fellow book nerds may or may not know, it was book week this March! So I purchased this book for the most ridiculously cheap (and I mean ridiculous in the best way possible!) price of £3.50. My instinctual thoughts were that the book would be worth it's cheap price, but I've never been so happy top be wrong. This book was an amazingly good read - and, Lena Duchannes and Ethan Wate may be my new OTP. 

 3. Favourite Film/TV Series -

I ♡ Teen Wolf. Yes, yes I do. As is evidently clear from my Tumblr page right now, I am so obsessed with Teen Wolf. 3 whole series in a week? Yes please. The show literally brightens my day; it has its fair share of hilarious moments, terrifying moments, and definitely has lots of hot and steamy moments. And the main reason I love the show definitely isn't (it so is) because I adore Stiles Stillinski. I'm currently counting down the days until June 23rd when Season 4 starts up, so add the date to your calendars.

4. Favourite Item of Clothing -

I ♡  Blazers. While spring certainly has sprung, unfortunately, so has the spring showers here in the UK. While I still get a little chilly in the iffy weather, I'm never too keen on wearing a big winter coat, and I've found not only is a blazer perfect as a light jacket, it also adds a certain amount of sophistication and class to an outfit. Blazers are a definite must in my spring wardrobe this year. 

5. Favourite Drink -

I ♡  Naked Juice. I know what you're all thinking. Stop thinking it. Despite the rather crude name of this beverage, it is actually quite fitting. Not because the juice struts around with no clothes on, but because it is essentially naked - with no harmful toxins or added sweeteners, sugars, fats, etc.  Now that may sound a little bland to you, and if you look on the ingredients label, you may think the same thing - but after my best friend all but forced me to have a little taste, I couldn't get enough. With the delicious taste of a fatty smoothie, but all the goodness of a fruit salad, you can't really go wrong.

6. Favourite Pair of Shoes -

I ♡  Nude Heels. Lately I've definitely had a little wardrobe inspiration from Blair Waldorf, and thought I'd try my hand at incorporating heels into my everyday look, and I'm definitely please with the result. I choose my favourite pair of nude heels, as they're still a little casual, and look really cute with the majority of my outfits. They've also been helping me out of my little monochrome rut!

7. Favourite Artist/Song/Album -

 I ♡   The Divergent Soundtrack. I've always been a sucker for a good movie soundtrack, but this one has really blown me away. With tracks by the likes of Ellie Goulding, Snow Patrol and others, I love, love, love this album. Oh, and the film. I really loved the film. I really, really, really, loved it.

Book Review: Fangirl

Surely you've seen the hype about the freakily relatable and totally amazing novel Fangirl, and all it's wonderful literary grandeur. Yes, I'd thought so. And if you haven't, and you feel like you need some visual aid, here's a few snaps of my copy.

 

I know all the literary geniuses have that old saying 'don't judge a book by it's cover', and maybe it applies to actual books, or maybe it's just a metaphor or prerequisite. Nonetheless, when I spied this down right adorable cover on the bookshelf, I was drawn straight to it's blurb, and shortly after - to the till. So, maybe once in a while it is okay to judge a book by it's cover, because in between the sleeve of this book is 448 pages of pure, 18 carat gold.

Rainbow Rowell creates an amazingly real and relatable world for the fandom centred obsessives in the from of Cather 'Cath' Avery. This book is juxtaposition of my two favourite things; boys and fanfiction, the last being the only thing that Cath really knows. Cath and her twin sister Wren (which if you hadn't already guessed, is the singular name, Cathryn chopped in half and split two ways, clever, huh?) are both from small town Omaha, and travel together to a new realm of education and the whole different world of college - but this time, for the first time, they are going their separate ways. Being a fan is Cath's life — and she’s really good at it. She and Wren, ensconced themselves in the famous Simon Snow series when they were just kids; it’s what got them through their mother leaving when they were just 8 years old. But now Cath's sister is growing apart from fandom and experiencing a whole new life at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and Cath is still stuck writing fanfiction in her dorm room next to her surly and mysterious room mate Reagan and her charming, always-around boyfriend Levi, whilst also worrying about her manic-depressive, loving and fragile father that has never really been alone and who can't really be trusted to take care of himself. And so the main question in the novel is really: can Cath do this without Wren holding her hand? Is she ready to start living her own life? Writing her own stories? And does she even want to move on to real life love and life if it means leaving Simon Snow behind?

 

This novel is one of the best stand alone books I've read in a long time by an otherwise un-noted author. I love how it is so seriously related to the life of the average teenager in the 21st century - in both a comedic sense, but also in a more serious sense of forgetting the laptop and actually experiencing life, which is a lesson I think all of us could benefit from. Fangirl is a seriously up-lifting and heart-warming novel that's a delightfully easy read, with adorable characters that I know will stay with me for a long time. Cather teaches excellent lessons of succumbing to the unknown, as well as moving on and letting new experiences wash over us, and then embracing them. I love reading about characters and situations that I can relate to, and this book is definitely lots of them; lives centred around the internet, loves for literature and a fear of the great unknown. However, this book is not only one about life lessons and new experiences, it's also one about new, beautiful love, and I'm a huge, massive sucker for a happy ending, and this book definitely has one.

Trendsetter Tuesday: Blair Waldorf

Everyone knows Blair Waldorf has been an international style icon for teens and adults alike when she graced our televisions with her wondrous presence in 2007, but for me, Blair's style is still Ultimate No.1 in my own little book of fashion. Blair's style screams 'elegant!' and 'classy!' but still has an underlying sexiness, even when she takes a trip to church! I love how Blair has her signature fashion item - headband, obviously - and I find myself envious of the fact that Blair is known for such a worldly accessory, as I'd love to have such a personal style item that I always wear. Doesn't it sound cool to you? In a big Manhattan sized nutshell, I think Blair's style is absolutely killer, and my wardrobe has definitely evolved into a more socialite-worthy one since I started watching the show. So, here I'm gonna share with you some of my favourite Blair Waldorf outfits, enjoy!

Aren't they just to die for? Like literally, I would definitely die for these outfits, Blair always adds a little pop of colour to whatever outfit she's wearing, and no matter if the colour's a subtle pink or a bright electric green, she still makes any item look classy and expensive. Ms. Waldorf has certainly inspired me to add a lot more colour and class to my wardrobe, as well as getting me passionate about my studies and my future because remember: if you really want something, you don't stop for anyone or anything until you get it. When I watch the show, Blair's words are always inspiring me, as well as her good taste in couture, so if you haven't watched Gossip Girl, definitely go watch it!

The last couple of weeks have been a really hectic time for me, so I'll apologize in advance if my usual brackets of bad puns and extra info aren't as predominant as they usually are (because I know you'll miss them...) and prepare yourselves for the mother of all Trendsetter Tuesday posts. Helpful Home Improvements

Hello my lovelies! Recently I've been going through a lot of change in my life, moving house, seeing a lot more of some people and less of others, and sometimes change really scares me, as I'm sure it does to lots of you guys. But whether you're going to university or college, moving house or just giving your room a much needed re-vamp, I always find that change can be made more bearable when you're comfortable in your surroundings. So, to help, I love to add my own touch to a new space by sprucing it up with a few of my favourite things and bedroom accessories. Here are a few items I've bought and things I've done to try and personalise my new room.

 

 

 

 

 

I always find a choice bed-cover makes you feel comfortable and at home especially if it's cute, like this one  bought from Argos. It was super cheap and came with a little cushion slip too, adorable! Next are my make-up brushes and felt-tips which are conveniently stored on my window sill in home made containers. This is such a super cheap way to create super duper cute containers to keep things like this in. My make-up brushes are kept in a peanut butter jar (that I obviously cleaned out!) and to finish I added the white ribbon that wrapped up the box of my Tiffany and Co. necklace - I love to re-use things and this was such a brilliant idea (if I do say so myself) that added a little character to my peanut butter jar! Scattered around it again are a few tea-lights my daring Nanan bought for me from Primark that smell simply delightful and look just as good as they smell. If you're anything like me you'll love a good candle. And I love, love, love candles right now (I know, that's a lot of love).  The white one is a beautiful candle that smells like vanilla that my Nanan purchased for me, which is probably from Primark - she adores the place! This blue one is a skittles candle that my friend bought me from B'n'M and it smells like delicious rasberries when burning. Yum!

 



My wardrobe looks even cuter with this adorable little handle cushion I purchased in a winter fete not too long ago for a cheap price. I've been told these things are pretty easy to make too, so if there aren't any fete's where you are, then buy some cute fabric and get stitching! This thing jut intensifies the cuteness of my room by 100% and is very me and personalises my space a lot.

Here are a few memoirs that I like to collect from memorable times in my life. You'll see a lot of tickets from my time in Manhattan, New York last year, concert tickets and little stickers from my favourite stores (Topshop, duhhh) and franchises. By adding all these little things to the inside of my wardrobe, it avoids making my room looking like a cluttered teenagers room, but instead adds my own personal stamp and shows a lot of character. I also love sticking things up and making collages, which is a total bonus!

Daily Make-up Routine

Step 1 - First, using a Real Techniques expert face brush, I blend a small amount of the YSL Le Teint Touche Éclat Foundation all over my face.

Step 2 - Then, I apply a small amount of the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer to my under-eyes and any blemishes/red areas with an EcoTools concealer brush.

Step 3 - Now, I add a sufficient amount of Benefit's Hoola Bronzer to a BareMinerals Blush Brush and sweep it over my cheeks, temples, forehead and jaw line. I also use this to contour my cheekbones.

Step 4 - Going in again with my Expert Face Brush, I take a small amount of Topshop's Cream Blush in the shade Afternoon Tea and apply to the apples of my cheeks. Sometimes I miss out this step if my skin is already quite red toned.

Step 5 - After this is completed, I then use either my Topshop Magic Liner, or MAC Liquid Liner (depending on how thick I want my line to be) and create a cat eyed look. If I'm pushed for time, I tend to just quickly line my lash line without a flick.

Step 6 - My eyelashes are naturally pretty long, so I just need a little lick of Benefit's They're Real mascara to add a little thickness to my lashes.

Step 7 - These last two steps can be missed out, but I usually either wear MAC's lipstick in Angel or Topshop's Hazard lipstick. If my lips are dry, I sometimes prep them with a lip butter from Nspa.

Step 8 - I've been love, love loving glossy lips recently, so after applying my lipstick, I either go over it in MAC's Lipglasses in the shades Oyster Girl or Russian Red!

And what are my February Favourites (that's right, I used alliteration) you ask? Right here, in the form of the post Emilie Hearts February. Every month instead of a plain jane monthly favourites titled post, you'll discover what I've really been heart'ing this month (and no, it isn't just Gossip Girl that I heart - though I do love it a lot) in a blog post orderly fashion. Let the post commence...

 

 

1. Favourite Person -

 I ♡  Blair Waldorf. Blair has been a huge inspiration to me this month since I've become obsessed with the Gossip Girl series. Her fashion sense is seriously classic but sexy and definitely on point, her attitude is full of unsaid feminism and self belief, and her one true love is the infamous Chuck Bass, whom I may have tiny (astronomical) crush on. Not only has Blair inspired me in lots of ways this month, her character has just had me in a daze of admiration, and there isn't a single person I've loved more this February.

 
2. Favourite Book -

I ♡  Divergent Series. I've loved the Divergent series for many months, but due to the books film adaptation premiering soon, I've taken to re-reading and falling in love once again with Divergent and it's world. When I read, I enjoy reading fantasy - in books escapism is a really important factor for me, and this book provides just that. It gives you an insight into a completely different word and era, and tells us a lot about the sheer enormity of girl power through the books protagonist Tris, whom is a kick-ass divergent trying to find a place in her own corrupt world. This series is seriously and soppily heart wrenching; with the perfect amount of violence, action and plot twists to even the scales. 3. Favourite Film/TV Series -

I ♡  Gossip Girl. It's hilariously ironic that my blog post sign off was 'XoxoE' even before I became obsessed with the world of the Upper East Side, but I'm now beginning to think it might be fate. I started watching Gossip Girl less than a month ago, and I'm already almost through with Season 5, and I'm sure when it comes to the end of Season 6, I'll be locking myself away in the corner of a dark room, rocking back and forth and muttering about a new scandal or how the Van Der Woodsen's should adopt me as their new child. Not one single episode has yet disappointed - the acting is outstanding, the story lines are scarily hooking, and the male leads (Chuck, Nate and Dan of course) are all seriously hot. I find as a viewer, that even though the lives of those in Manhattan may be far away from our own, we can relate to aspects of their lives as easily as we can relate to our closest friends, and that each character has respectable and redeeming qualities and make life in the Upper East Side look positively peachy, even if there is a new scandal every day. I simply cannot give this show enough praise, in all it's secret stuffed, character scheming glory, it has to be the most prestigious and the best show I've ever watched.

 

4. Favourite Item of Clothing -

I ♡  Crop Tops. While spring has started to spring(?) on us, I think crop tops are the way forward, and because of this revelation, I've been wearing crop tops a lot this month. They look good with jeans, shorts, skirts, skorts and even under cute little pinny dresses or a pair of adorable dungarees. All I know is, I can't get enough of these midriff bearing shirts.

5. Favourite Drink -

I ♡  Caramel Latte. Usually iced coffee is more in my line of drinking preferences, but this month I decided to venture out and start trying a different order at Starbucks rather than my usual white-chocolate-mocha-frappucino-with-extra-whipped-cream-and-a-choclalte-drizzle; because really, it's a little bit of a mouthful, even if it does taste absolutely delicious. So, when me and my Mum went out for a coffee date, I chose to be more adventurous and opt for a large mug of Caramel Latte goodness, and all hail!, it was a wise choice. Ever since, I've been getting my Dad to cook me one up when I stay over. And so, this hearty choice (puns!) will hopefully help me try more new yummy creations not only at Starbucks, but in the food department too, as I'm more of a fussy eater than most. Fingers crossed!

 

6. Favourite Pair of Shoes -

I ♡  Black and White Brogues. As he weather starts becoming more neutral,  find my outfits becoming less and less edgy and formal, which is how I usually dress, because due to the lapses in cold weather, I seem to make less effort as the months dwindle by. This month I've found tat my black brogues are able to make any outfit look more sophisticated and put together, and well, more me than a pair of baggy boyfriend jeans and a band tee. My black and white brogues have been my fashion saviours this month, so if you don't have these wardrobe paramedics in your shoe collection, you should seriously consider calling for their help!

 

 7. Favourite Artist/Song/Album -

 I ♡  The 1975. For months now, I've been love, love, loving the 1975, and a mon avis (as the critical French would say), they are the new thing this year. Their music is a fun mix of pop, rock, indie and alternative, and their image is this perfectly tangible 'I don't give a f*ck' kind of aura, and I simply cannot get enough. With approval from the likes of Harry Styles, this band has to only be going up from here, and in my humble opinion, they'll be at the top - especially in my book - for a long time coming.

Spring Fling

Hello my lovelies! Found yourself wanting to switch your heavy staple winter coat for a light jacket and your favourite cable knit sweater for a cute floaty cardigan? Me too. And, that can mean only one thing; spring is on it's way.

Spring is the perfect time to be adventurous and maybe try some new cutting edge pieces that you've always wanted to wear, and it's also time to try and introduce a little splash of colour into our monochrome winter wardrobes. In light of this harmonious spring occasion, here are a few tips on creating the perfect spring wardrobe!
